2007 Annual Fish Head Ball
A Fishy Fiesta

Sombreros and serapes were the popular items of dress at The Pier Aquarium's 14th Annual Fish Head Ball held at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront in early November. The party theme, A Fishy Fiesta, lent itself well to a mariachi band, dance music by the Surfin' Raccoons, silent and live auctions and mystery grab bags sold buy El Nacho Mystico el Luchador (Nacho Mystico the Wrestler).
The event, which netted almost $22,000 for the Aquarium's education programs, was chaired for the second consecutive year by Debra Hempel and attended by 430 people.
Committee members were: Melissa Bender; Laura Doig; Christina Douglas; Ruth Hewlett; Sara Hoeber, Decorations chair; Kevin Kowzan; Linda McAllister; Linda O'Brien; Kevin Riskowitz, Food and Beverage chair; Executive Director E. Howard Rutherford; Emily Stehle, APR, Marketing chair; Vicky VieBrooks, Live and Silent Auctions chair; Susan Wallace, Sponsorships chair; Eleanor Whiteside; Gloria Wilcox, Mystery Grab Bags and Drawings chair; Jeff Wilcox and Patty Zimmermann.
