Support Community Marine Education

This community, especially kids, loves marine education!

Kids and adults love the community marine education that we provide 364 days a year. Families make The Pier Aquarium in St. Petersburg, FL a destination for exploration and discovery. Our interactive exhibits, our minds-on, hands-on activities and, of course, our aquarium tanks displaying marine ocean create daily "oohs" and "aahs."

As the public face for the 1,200 scientists who work in downtown St. Petersburg, we offer the unique challenge of discovery within our beautiful space with Tampa Bay right outside our door. Our exhibits stimulate the visitor to think...and act. We nurture and cultivate the next generation of stewards and keepers of the marine environment.

This past year:
  • Almost 25,000 people this past year had an up close and personal Touch Tank Experience with our living critters.
  • Almost 1,500 people assisted in our fish feeding.
  • Almost 2,000 children participated in more than 69 Pier Aquarium education progams.
  • 2,813 family members learned about sustainable eating and seafood at our First Night St. Petersburg Labyrinth.
  • More than 400 people celebrated our 20th anniversary with us Aug. 29, 2009.
With your contribution, children (and adults) will continue to learn about sea urchins and sharks, touch a sea star and cherish the ocean in their everyday lives.
